► An Entry About Maids.
August 3, 2010 @ 9:57 PM
HEAVY POST AHEAD. I really pity maids nowadays, especially those from Indonesia and from a poor family. Some of them even left their family, daughter and/or sons to earn some money here to send back to the people at home. So that is why some decided to work here as maids to earn money. Some were lucky to have such good and kind hearted employer. But I really pity those who didn't. They got treated badly instead. Being yelled at, being ill treated, given tons of work to do, didn't let them have proper meals. I really do pity them. Yes we've heard stories about those 'bad' maids, but that's not who&what I wanna talk about here. I am talking about those innocent ones, who are soft spoken and are very cautious in everything they do. In malay, they say 'lemah lembut'. But that too, they were taken for granted. See how inhumane some people are? Tsktsktsk. Just imagine, try putting yourself in their shoes. Coming from a poor family, hoping to earn some big money here in Singapore, but instead they are being treated like that. I can't believe people like that still exists, self centered that is. I am not talking about those who are fortunate enough to get supernice employer. I'm talking about those unfortunate ones, who got a hot tempered employer instead. Every little move they do, they'll get yelled at. They are humans, but why are they being treated like animals instead? Yes I get it, they're being paid to do house work, but they're still human and should be treated with fucking respect. You pay them, so what?! That doesn't make you the king of the kings. That doesn't give you any power, one bit. NEVER. So I don't really think you have the right to shout and yell at them, order them harshly, not let them eat and those bad things. They have feelings too. Later at the end of the day, when they cry or feel hurt, you'll ask them what for they'll cry. Omfg, don't you realised that you're the one who made her that way? I just feel like, by treating her like that, you're actually showing what kind of a person you actually are, which I believe a bad one?! I mean, come on. Just treat her right and all those sadness and tears won't come out. I bet they'll feel happy and will do their work willingly. I seriously can't see maids shedding their tears because they can't take it how their employers and/or family members treated them. Like Dad said, if the maid ever shed any tear, it'll be hard for the employer. Might not be now, but afterlife. And everyone knows no one can run from that and everyone should be scared of it. I am too, very. I just hope employers nowadays realised that their maids came from a very poor family, thats why they flew here to work. I hope they realised their mistakes, and atleast try to treat them as part of their family. Boundaries are find, but over reacting isn't. Come on, they're humans and have all them 5 senses, and feelings too. May Allah give patience to the maids who are facing such situation. InsyaAllah, patience will heal it all one day. Like Mom said, no matter how bad of a situation you are facing, just Doa-yang-baik-baik to the Almighty. Never Doa-yang-tak-baik cause insyaAllah they good ones will be answered one day and you'll be free from the situation you're in. My prayers are always with them. All they have to do now is to have patience. There are still more I want to talk about, but I guess I'll just end it here. Anyways, this is just my 2 cents. Who would care anyway right? Assalamualaikum. |
