► My Umrah Experience
September 18, 2012 @ 11:22 PM
First and foremost, I am not trying to brag about anything in this post. I'm just sharing my experience and how I truly feel/felt. Thank you.Ok so the other day, one of my friend asked me, "What's the feeling like when you went for Umrah?" I instantly smiled upon hearing that question and was so happy. Happy because I am able to share my experience, and who knows it'll actually help her to want to go there, insyaAllah. So thus, I decided to make a blog post about it and share with my readers(if any) about my experience. It was great btw. Alright, let's start from the beginning. Umrah used to be secondary in my family back then, but these past years, it has been our primary thing especially since we lost my brother-in-law. Its like a wake up call for us, atleast me. It hit me, that life is short and now that you have the energy, the income to actually go to Umrah, why not make use of it. The feeling when you step foot in the two holy places on earth is like, your life is complete. Whenever the time comes for prayers, and you'll see everyone walking towards Masjidil Harram, the more you'll feel proud as a Muslim. All walking towards one thing in common, together as one. And when you set eyes on the holy Ka'bah, and watch your Muslim brothers and sisters performing their tawaf, thats when your heart will melt. Mine did. You'll feel small, tiny. All your thoughts about you being the smartest kid in class, having the best paid job in the world, all of that vanished because you feel worthless. You'll feel like you're nothing compared to what Allah has given you. Questions will run through your mind, "What have I done to deserve this blessing?" "Why are You so nice to me?" "Allahuakbar." Indeed, Allah is the Greatest. Nowadays when I see youngsters like me going Umrah, it made me happy. Really happy. I have no idea why but I am. Maybe the thought of them having the chance to experience the best feeling in the world made me happy. I have an advice for you, from sister to brother/sister of Islam, once you're there, never take a single second for granted. Enjoy every moment of it. Cause you'll never know whether you'll get the chance to come back. InsyaAllah we'll all get invited to the two holy places on earth, Makkah and Madinah. Amin. Hope you enjoy my experience eventhough I didn't really go in depth. Peace be upon you :) Labels: experience, umrah |
