► Batam Trip 2012
December 19, 2012 @ 12:10 AM
Hey there! Its been so long since I last updated my blog eh! Maybe because nothing interesting enough had happened in my life to be blogged about. But anyway, I just wanna update my blog on my trip to Batam! So the other day I tweeted about how long its been since I went on a holiday overseas. And Alhamdulillah Allah swt answered my prayers by giving me the opportunity to go to Batam! I went for a 3 day-2 night stay and left on last Tuesday at about 1 or 2 pm. And if you're wondering where we stayed at, its Sijori Resort.

Its been toooooo long since I last took a ferry to Batam. I bet the last time was when I was like 6? That young eh.

When we arrived, we were greeted with smiles from the staffs there and also a cup of drink each. So welcoming! The resort was huge, maybe because there were not much people staying over. Do you believe that we were the only guests on our first day? Funny yet scary hehe. But one downside about the resort is that the rooms and reception is too far away. To go to your rooms, you have to actually exit the main building, yes, and climb up the hill to your rooms. The pathment are surrounded by trees and you'll pass by the pool, which is quite nice actually. Picture of it will be shown later on this post. So yeah, thats the only downside. Thus, I suggest/recommend this resort only if you're going in big groups and dont mind the dark surroundings at night. By dark, I mean dark. Only lights were the pathment uphill, and the corridor.

We decided to walk around one of the shopping malls but before that, Sissy wanted to get kek lapis for the people back home, and beside the factory was like a 'mini zoo' to me hehe.

There were snakes, chicken, (not that big) eagle and a monkey! The most scariest was the snake la, come on. My reaction upon seeing those snakes was, "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" and begin rubbing my hands and actually hugging myself to keep me calm. Hehehe what a freak right. And the eagle was too cute. Idk, I just love how eagles look like. So segak. Then we went to the shopping mall, which I believe the name is BCS. We did some shopping, I didnt get anything if I'm not wrong. We had like a laaate lunch over at a cafe. Actually we thought of just eating something light because we'll be having dinner at the resort but our minds decided to change once we saw the menu heheh.

and ofcourse, what is a Batam trip without having this classic Chocolate Avocado Alpokat riiiiight.

After getting our tummies filled, we went to the supermarket to get some snacks and drinks to snack on in our room when we're bored. Aaaand we were greeted with dinner when we got back to the hotel. Just look at the spread!

We had corn soup, sweet&sour fish, mixed veggies, and chicken (idk how they cooked it hehe) I cant deny, it was de-li-cious. But we were too full to finish it up and it actually got us craving for it when we woke up the next morning. Sissy even said she regret not finishing the food. But too bad we were too full from the laate lunch we had earlier before.

Second day was niiice. After breakfast, we sat at the reception sitting corner for about half an hour to forty-five minutes and you wanna know why? Because there's Wi-Fi!!! Being the typical Singaporeans we are, we just have to check aaaalllll our social networking sites, especially Instagram because we love posting pictures of our trip heheh. And ofcourse whatsapp-ing with the rest of the siblings hehe. After that, Sissy and myself went for a massage. Oooh, that was actually my first massage and its kinda ticklish. Heheh I kept laughing to myself whenever the masseuse massage my sensitive areas. But it was a nice and relaxing experience though. While we're on that, Lala and BIL went swimming. Both places are nearby each other. We could actually hear Lala and BIL talking to each other, so you can somewhat get the picture of the distance between the pool and massage room eh.

The first picture was where we had our massage. There were a total of 6 rooms. The second picture was the reception/main building. And the fourth picture was where the rooms were located. Yes, up the hill. See the surrounding trees? :)

We decided to skip lunch and dinner cause we thought of finding our own food at the second shopping mall we went, Nagoya Hill. Guess what we had for lunch? Guess lah faster. A&W!!! Alhamdulillah finally I got to eat at A&W. I've actually never tried eating there before and was actually looking forward to it hehe. Especially the float, ugh  Then we went to the supermarket to get some stuffs, like their famous instant noodle. And they are having a sale on Maybelline products!! Ofcourse I had to get some hehehe. By sale, I mean S$4 for a gel foundation. Yes! Kinda regret not getting more though but its alright, its cool.

Then we had a seafood dinner. Wooo yumyum. It was niiice. The food came earlier than expected actually, which was good. However, there was a rat and Lala freaked out and couldn't stop jumping around even if the rat was like 4 metres away from our table. Hehehe but I was scared too actually heheheh but must maintain cool what right.

Look what we had!! Fried sotong, sambal prawn with petai, fried lemon chicken, kangkong and my favourite gong gong! Hehehe so happy after the meal Alhamdulillah. They also gave a small tumbler of rice ofcourse. It was deliciousss I kinda want them right now after seeing the pictures hehe. If you're wondering what was the place called, its...

It's a Muslim-owned seafood place so you don't have to worry, like how we did hahaha.

The next day, we just stayed at our hotel until the time we had to check out. I must say this trip was awesome. If you're planning on staying at the resort, you can actually book a taxi at the reception and tell them the time you want to head out and check out the city. They have a taxi service where they charge you by trips or per hour. So hope this little information helps those of you who are planning on staying at the resort. Thanks for reading btw. Goodnight!

Peace be upon you :)
