Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir Dan Batin!

Alhamdulillah, I got the chance to meet Ramadhan again this year, and lets pray that we'll all get to meet next year's. My Syawal was great. Visiting the late(s) on the morning of Hari Raya has become a norm since two years ago. Its interesting and fun to see families with their matching clothes visiting their family members who had passed, while my family and I are in our normal home clothes hehe. To be honest, I like wearing matching clothes during Hari Raya, however its impossible for my family because firstly, my family is big and secondly, we're all grown up so we'll have our own taste in clothes, so its kinda hard to settle on just one yknow. But whatever, their presence means more to me than matching clothes, Alhamdulillah I gotta spend this year's raya with my family again.

I spent the first 3 days of Syawal visiting the cousins' houses and family friends'. I loove it when I actually go out visiting people's house. Mainly because the past few years I've been spending most of the days at home, expecting guests as either grandmothers will be at my house but since their passing, we got the chance to actually go out and visit! Dont misunderstand, I too loove when people come to my house hehe!

After all the rendang, ayam masak merah, lontong and especially thousands mouthful of kuih raya, I feel so sloppy, unhealthy, yucky and 100x fatter! And I was actually craving for something clean like fruits and salad. Thats why today I decided to make corn and chickpeas salad hehe! Its so simple to make, and tasty too. I ate it with grilled chicken fillets, so full I tell you hehe. I should start eating healthy man. Not only to become healthy but also lose some extra 'Azryn' if you know what I mean ;) insyAllah.

Corn and Chickpeas Salad

Ingredients
  • half red capsicum
  • half green capsicum
  • 2 romaine leaf lettuce
  • half can chickpeas, washed and drained
  • half can corn, washed and drained
  • half lime
Steps
  1. Cut both capsicum and romaine into small cubes/pieces
  2. Microwave chickpeas and corn for 1 minute
  3. Mix all ingredients
  4. Squeeze half lime to mix
  5. Serve warm or keep in fridge
  6. (Optional) You can add salt, but I didn't because I like the taste of the sourness. Its not that strong though.
So yeah, just thought of sharing hehe! To those who tried, hopefully you liked it. You can modify it to suit your preferences. Till next time, peace be upon you :)
