► Azryn and Projection Mapping
October 10, 2015 @ 11:19 PM
Oh hey! Can you believe it, its already October?! October! The 10th month of 2015 already. Thats super quick huh. Indeed tons, and i mean whole lot has happened this year. Good, bad, sweet, bittersweet, there's a lesson to learn behind everything that happened. Alot of opportunities given, alot of chances taken. I'm truly blessed with everything that happened.

I started my final year in poly this year. My class started the study path first, which means we had 1 semester (6 months) of normal lessons and will take on FYP and Internship in the next. I must say, I didnt regret a single thing when I chose Interactive Media as my specialisation. I really didnt. I loved it in fact! Haha. Yes, others may see it as an escape plan since this specialisation doesn't have exams, but hey we suffered as much as ya'll did haha. The projects, the assignments, the content. Ugh, time consuming and definitely a pain in the head!

Anyway, this year has definitely brought me many opportunities, Alhamdulillah! I was introduced to Projection Mapping last sem. To be honest, I didnt like it at first. It was pretty troublesome and I didnt really enjoy the whole process. Prolly because I was focusing on other modules' project. But as time goes by, I actually kinda liked it. I was grouped with the most awesome team mates - Sherealyn, Jason and Ian. Hahah. No really, they were great. Our projection was about F1 Grand Prix, since the actual race is around the same timing for our submission date (well a month later though). And we projected on a cutout of a sideview of the F1 Car.

All of us had to showcase our final work to each other, where we go from group to group to watch their projection. We were only told that it was actually a competition between all of us ON THAT DAY. We all didnt know that we were gonna be judged, and prizes and ranks were actually involved. So we got to the finals, Alhamdulillah. For the finals, some external people actually came down to be panel of judges, from Sony and Coolux if I'm not wrong. And we actually won that thing! Alhamdulillah haha. As cliche as it sounds, we really didnt expect to win. Cause there were actually some others that were pretty amazing. But Alhamdulillah. So happy that our work finally paid off! We felt like 'superstar' for a week or two because we were being called up a couple of times and were asked about our project and such. Alhamdulillah.

 IM rocks yo!

After that, we were chosen to showcase our work for Sony's event where they introduced their new projection. It was at *Scape and I really enjoyed that experience. We had to work till night the day before the event to set up and get ready what needs to be ready since the actual day starts very early. Alhamdulillah, all that went well. Oh and there was one Malay lady (tak panggil makcik sebab she dress like those atas people hehe) who came up to me and actual shook my hand and said, "Congrats!". I was stunned and happy and didnt know what to say, so I just said, "Aah, thank you!" She was sorta waiting for me to say something but sorry Cik you caught me off guard sampai i tergamam! Hehehe. Then it gets more awkward when she walked away because I know I should've said something haha. Hais its ok.

When the sem ends, we were given only a week break before we start our Intern/FYP. For myself, I'm doing FYP first and then Intern, so 3 months each. But as soon as I thought I'm done with projection mapping, guess what I'm doing for my final year project? PROJECTION MAPPING AGAIN OH MYYY hahaha. I got a mixed feeling of happiness and sadness when I gotta know that. But thankfully, I'm in a group tho so I (hope) it's easier.

Oh, I was also given the opportunity to be on the radio! YES  a freaking (tiny) segment on radio where I get to talk about, yes you guessed it, PROJECTION MAPPING. Hahah told ya I'm all about that projection mapping life. So yeah, gotta go on 938 Live with Mr Malcolm. I was literally shaking due to nervousness moments before but once I stepped into the studio I was like, whatever just go with the flow. It was such a great experience indeed! So fun and I would do it again if I get the chance haha. So cool.

Ahh, all in all. Alhamdulillah very thankful for what happened these pass few months. Alhamdulillah for the results I get too, never expected it :)

Now I'm stressing for FYP uggghhh
